    The history of Oldham

Post  young casual on Mon Jan 05, 2009 9:32 am

So the trips over the hills and back are becoming as said below one of the most eventful fixtures in the lower leagues, where did it start?

Im sure town fans attacked a linesman on the pitch at old leeds road in a game against oldham 88?, it may of been oldham fans who got caught by cctv video for smoking dope in the open end?

Having been around a few years I never rated Oldham one bit, when we returned to the 1st Division in 95, we took thousands on a bright summers day and literally took over the town centre all day, by a pub in the middle of oldham just below a church with a wedding going on and probably near 200 HYC watching over events, I remember some town lads had just bought new mobile phones, which in 95 was something completley new!! big bricks lol

The year after we went again in numbers and again no sign of oldham, although we got told late were they are and decided to go to their out of town pub only to get their and they have locked themselves in and are not coming out to join the fun. I think this may have been a game when they caught up with 5 of ours in a boozer while the game was on and made them go through the tunnel of death? One of these season's we witnessed oldham in town along with some crazy jocks (Hibs I think). Funniest moment i have ever witnessed - running up to a boozer at top end of town about 70 handed believing oldham were in, someones got a balaclava on and runs in 1st followed closely by the rest but all there was in was old men drinking their real ale - hillarious. So Oldham did come but the talk was all about their mates the jocks and not Oldham.

Then a good few years later 01/02?, a very young set of HYS lads turned up at 11am in chadderton with I would say around 100, waited for hours with no OB but no sign of oldhamm so decides to go find em, we were literally 300yds from their pub when by chance a local plod car spots us, some toe to toe but nothing like it could of been, well proud of them young HYS that day.

Events in Huddersfield at the peacock where, 15 HYS turn over a mini bus of theirs, quiet last year oldham here, but the fa cup game at theirs was in my eyes as good as it gets these days and eventually I have to start giving Oldham some respect. They lost it a bit after theirs this year, but again they came with numbers and early here.

My numbers and dates may be a bit out, basically im saying I always thought we were just too much for oldham after my 1st 2 visits we just took over the town, now it's been very much a tale of 2 towns!

not 2 mention the time. you tried to ambush 16 in your town after telling you to wait , but decided not to and turn up. only for our mini buses to arrive in time, to run you through your town. and the chadderton incident where the was 20 oldham having it out with 70 of you. and never budged.and the time you came on the birthday bash for your older lads, in town, full of cameras.with oldham at the bottom. could of been good only for old bill. you tried to come back fair play, but ob won the day again, you are trying to claim some kind of results here, when its just your eyes what seem to see it, i could go on forever talking like that, ive been to huds for every single meet. and its always gone one way or the other. the peacock incident, i was there, mini bus of pies was leaving as you turned up. there was 8 of us, with only 3 of us getting outside with the rest locked in by landlord. and there was 15 of you, add another ten to that. and did we run no, got put on our arses, but 4 onto 1.was the odds. hahaha, never grumble, if you go for it, you,l get it.i just cant understand why its not done propper. and fair play to our youth, they went for it, without any older heads with them to meet you. older heads all over, and untouch, and like at the peacock. we was on wakefield road this time because the peacock was shut. 20-25 of us. oh i wish that 25 from last year would of shown. the lad spoken to last year, was told to come there, but he didnt want to leave the wellington. i wonder why, either scared or not enough numbers, probably all in the ground. and what i saw outside the wellington at 5pm, its prob best he stayed where he was. all the lads. where put on busses after game, and the mini busses where escorted out aswel. us in cars where there till 6. but that old bill would not leave that wellington pub. we wasnt staying all night.so all in all. nothing to shout about again. although there was tit for tat here and there. think oldham had far more numbers. on saturday, and if all together. would of been far too much.the old bill put a stop to that.

Swings and roundabouts, we get the upperhand, you lot get the upperhand, we've never really steam rollerd each other and when we do meet it usually goes off with no-one really giving an inch, like the cup game it was going off all over after game and then a decent do by the hospital, our mob got split then and i was one of those 15 or so up by the queens where you had some right numbers, we would of really been in bother then if it was'nt for the road works and we still managed to have it with a few of yours on our side of the fence as all you could do was watch, then this year at yours a few of our older lads got a slap while game was on when passing a boozer of yours, no big deal but a little out of order, then the above mentioned games over the years something always happens, then this year at ours your youth come over get plotted up out of town and call it on, we gave them abit of a suprise and all good fun, then i think they had a go later on in the center and charged at us untill they realised how many where in the pub. In my eye's you lot are game as fuck and always make an effort to offer something when at ours which cant be said for our local yorkshire neighbours, like mentioned earlier this is one of the most active avents in the lower leagues and its not out of rivalry we dont hate each other with a passion, seems to me more out of respect, we turn up at yours and you return the favour at ours i cant fault you lot in this day and age and i really take my hat off to your young-uns this time round.....

some right fucking bollocks there mate and you know it. it went off every match in the eighties at yours, outside the main stand after every match and you certainly didnt take the piss from what i "witnessed". fyc was formed and first match was away at yours about 86. 20 of us went on early train, and ended up getting fucked in your town centre because you swamped us with numbers. the main firm came in later on and did far better than we did. ive got the paper write up somewhere about oldham rioting in your town centre. dont recall you doing anything special at ours in the eighties, although it was the usual punch up outside the ground like most matches them days.

cant comment about early to mid 90's as i was locked up. you going on about 5 hudds copping for it in a tunnel of death, well heres the full story -

hudds turn up early about 150 handed. we met up on huddersfield rd to meet you out of way but you ended up in town centre. police moved you lot out and we made our way into centre. about 70 of us in weatherspoons and some of yours came to the pub. one of ours went out to tell your lot they couldnt come in as we were there, and yours attacked him. they left quickly when a few more of ours went out. later on, we were walking through the town centre to go to a pub on a side street were there was no cctv. as we walked past harrys bar, yours started throwing missles at us as you must of thought we were going in the pub. yours then got attacked by a load of doormen who were sat in the pub and by one of millwalls main lads who was running the pub at the time.

as for chadderton, you lot should have done far better as oldham only had 25 lads ther as the police had most oldham blocked off in a pub near ground. at peacock last season, wouldnt say that was your result, more evens than anything

the incident this year at ours during the game was down to either your lads being game or stupid. your lad got asked if he was hudds and he steamed over and said why do you want it. thats what started it according to the 3 lads arrested for it. the rest of yours saw what was happening and ran down from the taxis they had got into. when the rest of the young ones came out, a couple saw he was in a bad way and locked after him till the ambulance arrived. think it was probably down to too much beer.

For fuck sake reading the posts from old fyc make me fucking laugh talk about rose tinted glasses. Listen on saturday your giving it we had mobs here and mobs there and that you oldham would of had to many lads any way Laughing what a load of shit. One if you had so many lads on saturday how come every single lad got caught after game and put on buses home they were just short of seventeen thousand there and you couldnt mingle in with a packed crowd and manage to get a few lads up in to town. You see this is were i dont rate oldham myself your lack of imagination. The fa cup game we managed to get a load of lads past the old bill and waiting buses. After game you were poor we hudds had 150 to 200 lads mooching around streets in town watching the crowds come up but nothing your massive mob had some how all been put on buses by ground i sense a bit of arse twitching went on and didnt fancy the walk back up town. Then you oldham have said some where you had 40 lads or summit in gas club was this before or after game Question Before game we had lads in there including my self and nothing in there. After game we had more lads in there and nothing so if you did have lads in there why not make them selfs known. Then you oldham are saying you were plotted up on wakefield road during game and you were calling it on. Well for a start all lads were at the game so fuck knows what you was trying to claim here. Then you claim to drive past wellington or something after game at around 5 or summit and say you didnt rate the lads that were in there thats bacause no cunt was in there most of the mob was in a bar round corner. Trust me old fyc if we had known you had lads down wakefield road we would of been there we have never failed to bring it to you boys FACT. We searched high and low for anything oldham after game and was disappointed to find nothing. At about half 6 some lads said they was a load of oldham in a bar at bottom of town so about 50 of us went down only to see a couple of mini buses pulling away and the bouncers informing us we were about 1 minute late very lucky Smile Know lets get to the brigde pub you say fair play to your youngs for comeing on there own to meet Very Happy fucking hell for a start we only found out they were there by chance with one of ours driving past and spotting them by chance. Up till then we hadnt heard a squeak from your side of the hills and time was knocking on with old bill by now patrolling manchester road and all the other routes in to hudds. So when we heard oldham where there we were at other side of town has we had heard brighouse for you boys was your destination. So getting 100 lads to that boozer at that time of day with old bill now out was a guna be a problem. But hey we never disappoint. The first 30 hudds that landed got spotted by a patrol car which was unlucky for us but again lucky for your young uns because that meant the 30 had to do the business before old bill arrived in force and this prevented rest of lads from getting there in time and that would of meant carnage for your young uns cause the 30 did the business with some of your young uns trying to shut the door. So fair play dont think so hideing away in a boozer with 70 lads then trying to shut door on 30 Embarassed So lets see saturday hudds took it to oldham this season at yours hudds took it to oldham fa cup hudds took it to oldham Peacock hudds took it to oldham chadderton hudds took it to oldham. The year of harrys bar hudds went back in to oldham late. Can you see a pattern there. Now i do rate oldham for turing up each year but thats about it just my opinion. And the peacock incident you say they was 8 of you Rolling Eyes they wouldnt of been if your mates hadnt left you has we were turning up and again you called it on and we obliged. Got to give credit to just the one lad from yours that night he was game but the rest Embarassed so if thats part of your best. Chadderton yes ill give credit to the oldham that stood but stood against 70 bollocks they stood against the first 10 to 15 lads that came round the bend the rest of the hudds mob that day were spread right down the road on another day we made the special effort to bring it to you. Now i know old fyc is going to come straight back at me with his views and opinions but there mine and im not going to get in to a tit for tat on the net so wont bother replying about any thing oldham again till next season Very Happy

this is the difference with all your bollocks, ive been at every meet, i was the one at the peacock who got put on my arse, i dont rate you men at all, reasons why i flew out the door into all of you. dont rate you one bit, you always try to claim results for silly offs. the 30 did the 70 yth . bollocks for a start, had old bill with you on arrival. yes 40 in the gas before game. it was 2-15pm, was you fucking blind, the lads all got put on busses after game. not hard to spot lads coming out of game mins earlier,by old bill what knows every one. your old bill know the crack with oldham if they let them wonder there be carnage as you men will be waiting.the 25 on wakefield road was there all through the game, and you was fucking told, the same lad who was told was at the peacock last time, he knew, but kept saying come to the wellington. why come there when old bill every where.and you couldnt get out, facts have been stated and nobodys claiming anything, but this super firm of yours, where twitching me thinks. it was planned for brighouse, but you wouldnt come, fact.the yth told you they was there the night before.you did that once with the olde lot, turn up to get a result, you got run through your town, and boy you fucking run. now you can turn this into a bullshit thread and claim this and that. maybe next time, i,l speak to you and smash your gobby little fuck inn. regards, no respect . your only good 30 on 3, now fuckoff. and even with that crowd of yours, you would of been no match with all ours together and as for the cup game, you got done in litten tree, and last time here you got done at uppsteppes. and again after, in the cup. it was the old bill and a load of fencing what stopped us getting to you. or you would of been mullard.

now now older fyc, you been on the ching or sommert??wrong side of the bed???, everyone has there own points of view but fuck me was that a bite, way i see it is your out for a good day, you make what plans you think will be sorted but somehow things dont work out, no fucker to my knowledge knew any you lot was on wakefield road, and no fucker knew you was in the gas club, because believe me we would of turned up if we did, just like we did down at the bridge when we was a good mile away the other side of town, we knew you was there so we turned up although only a handfull of the lads out that day......fuck knows who you've been ringing but they must not have passed info on or its not really one of our more itk lads, seriously we knew fuck all about you being anywhere other than the bridge.as for the cup game where we got done in witherspoons....dont make me laugh, you walked in 30 or so handed to have a look on our mob next door, we were 10 or so old boys who'd sneaked away from the main lot to get rid of old bill and have a qiute drink, one of your lads asked who we were and got the reply huddersfield and a right hook and then we threw everything at you while backing out of the door(in all honesty) and then called it on in the street to which none of you entertained, some of our lads had'nt moved and when they made there way through you lot stood in the doorway they got the odd kick up the arse and a quick punch, if thats getting done then ive been missing the point for years........after the game you lot called it on and we obliged and on the first off we came out worse with a few of ours getting decked outside ground, we waited for more lads to turn up as we were all over the ground, our young-uns got rounded up but us older lot managed around 40 or so and came up the road after you on which we caught up by the hospital and went straight into you scattering you at first then you came back and you gave as good as it gets in this day and age,no-one came out top there in my eyes, our mob got scatterd by the old bill after that and 15 or so of us walked the main road, we got to the boozer where you lot were, me personally thinking im fucked here but we carried on and then the road split off with fencing, us on one side and around what looked like 60-70 lads on other, there was around 20 or so of your lot on our side and again we went straight into you scattering you again, with the same lad who got cracked in the pub in town taking a kick and getting raced off first, old bill everywhere and we walked on to a pub had a beer and stayed there for abit and moved on to another where we stayed while 9-30-10ish i think.

Thing is like i said earlier swings and roundabouts, i could mouth it off about alot of things but that cup game last year was one of the best days out ive had in years fv wise, got the blood flowing and i had the old buzz for weeks after that and like i say no-one got the result but for an away game in your town we did well, now going back to at ours this time, your young-uns did fuck all, 70 handed and did fuck all at the bridge and if your honest you know it, our lot turning up with the old bill, fuck me thats an excuse and a half, we always take old bill where ever we go........ Laughing, thing is only a half arsed mob of young-uns and a couple of old boys who should know better went down there and again went straight into the pub, fired everything they could along with a few fireworks to get the party started....what did you lot do.......threw a few things back and basically fuck all, there was 25-30 at a push of ours and 70 of you lot you should of done abit more!!like the handfull of old boys who got a slap over your end, what was your excuse for emptying the pub on them.......they called it on like!!! lol! , so a boozer full of yours turn over 6-7 lads and one of them badly, but hey you looked after him till the ambulance arrived Shocked, fucking bang out of order and you know it, you firing into us outside peacock and getting put on your arse in a one man mission is out of order too like???, swings and round-a-bouts mi old china, like i say we've had a few run-ins over the years some where we've taken the piss, some where you've taken the piss and the only one im referring to is the time you had us on our toes at the springwood car park where we was ill prepared for the amount of numbers you had up there, other than that you've done fuck all at ours and not alot really at yours when we've turned up...

think your getting me mixed up with OLD FYC. in my oppinion 80's we did more at yours than you did at ours. 90 - 95 cant comment as was locked up. way i see it, both mobs the same on their day end off, anyone saying otherwise is on a wind up.

hahahahahahahahaha, okay i,l shake my head. i cant really comment on the ones at the bridge, but they said they couldnt get out with all the shit in the door way and admitted they was took by surprise with the fireworks and thought it was gas, haha, there was 48 to be presise, 3 16 seater buses, most in the beer garden at back. but heh, i know whats gone off. ive always been there, apart from the bridge, but never been on my toes no matter what the sittuation, i for one said the yth was out of order with the 6-7 lads in town at ours, i didnt think you was out of order at the peacock, because silly cunt here called it on hahaha, i was just biting at boyo. he loves me really. hahaha. its harder and harder these days, with the older lads always going there own way thinking the yth chat to much and bring it on top, but they do make the effort, just not organised enough, but they all start somewhere. and i do have respect for you, reasons for me turning out expecially for you. Like i said old fyc we all have our own opinions and views on things ive been at every off we have had apart from the grove incident. That day you ran a kiddie firm made up of pretenders via about 6 lads that should of known better to go to grove with what they had. At that time hudds were struggling firm wise due to court cases going on. Not takeing anything away from you that day tho you can only do whats in front of you and the result of that incident was yours. To be qwite honest we havent had a proper turn out firm wise since hull away 4 years ago. The mob we brought to yours the season we went back in to oldham after leaving was prob the best crew we have brought to yours in recent times 150 proper fucking lads that was a quality firm. To be honest i bet half of that firm that went that day have knocked it on head now sign of the times i suppose. I spoke to the lad you was in contact with old fyc on saturday and he said he thought you said you was in idle near bradford. Not in a boozer near lidle he said he was pissed up and must of heard it wrong Rolling Eyes. Im fucking gutted we didnt realise you were down there Old fyc i wanted to see you on your arse again tongue Very Happy LOVE YOU REALLY OLD FYC CALM DOWN.
