    Hey Up .....
Anyone go to this one? Any memories?
Any trip to Hudds in the 80s was a guaranteed "good day out" .... but the one that stands out for me was the year we played Bradford there .... I remember a couple of 100 of us getting into Hudds for 10:30 ish, and SFA being open ..... anyway by 12ish were was plenty going on .... we then spent the next 7 hours "having a laugh" with Bradford, Hudds and the OB, with a 90 mins break for the match ..... then it was back to Wakey, to catch up with Leeds ..... good times indeed .....
Anyone know my mate from Darton, who's a Hudds bin man Smile

Barnsley always brought a top mob here from my memmories of the 80's, fucking good good days they were, and the bradford games played here when we lent them our ground after the disaster were some of the best in fv history if you ask me, i remember you lot coming over and sheff united, cant remember how many teams played at ours against bradford back then, it was a free for all i know that and there were mobs from all over when they heard what was going on, if you ask me too thats were the HYC learned most of there lessons having to stick together when not only 1 but 2 or even 3 mobs would turn up in the center because i remember leeds turning up in hudds for one of the bradford games but i cant remember which now its that fucking long ago, it was a fucking battle ground hudds town center back in those days and many a mob used to turn up here on a stop off, leeds half a dozen times, you lot, man city, liverpool, man united, stoke and many more just off the top of my head. leeds always bleet on about being number one when it matterd, load of bollox if you ask me, back then west yorkshire and south all had top mobs in my eyes, leeds stood out more because of there ground smashing antics and all the publicity they got in the media i suppose someone had to stand out, but i would of put you lot against them any day back then, and definatly sheff united, we always held our own with them but they did always have the numbers, remember having it with you lot right outside the ground before kick off once and it was fucking meyhem and one of your top lads walking over to us and ripping us to shreds, i was only a young-un and just stood there amazed at this lads balls, always sticks in my mindif id of been bigger id of clouted the fucker.. Smile we used to stop off at yours quite alot on the trains back from games and most of the time you'd be there waiting Laughing eye those were mental times back then alot of good memmories with all the yorkshire mobs...

Oh leave it out Rolling Eyes

I remember one mad month in 84 were we took the piss all day at Barnsley & then came and did the same at Leeds Road a couple of weeks later. There were a few Leeds lads (including some good lads from Batley) that were in court for the two incidents in the same hearing, the events were that close together. I was stood in the away end at the LR game, watching the SC run your lads from one side of your main stand to the other.

You can re-write history as much as you want 20 odd years later but Leeds were number one in Yorkshire back then. FACT. Suggestions that Bradford/Hudds/Barnsley were in the same league are a joke. The best lads from all those places were Leeds fans! You might not rate us (in hindsight) but you put up very little resistance back 'when it mattered' & luckily for Leeds, the Man Utd's/Cardiffs/West Hams of this world all see fit to give us a mention, if not a whole chapter in their books. What do you get from them...a brief report about how a minibus of them smashed you outside your main boozer. No hard feelings lads, but let's try and keep accounts of the good old days realistic eh?

The OB on this picture were having to baton the Leeds following back into the away end. Can't remember you ever trying to get out of the Lowfields into the South Stand on your visits to ER back then?

I was at that game you've pictured in your thread Leeds 80's, and in our pictures theres a few more of that game, ok ok so i was jumping the gun a little with my previous post and the leeds being number one, you proberly were number one in yorkshire for pure numbers and incidents back in the 80's but what i really meant to say is there were many mobs who stood up and counted for themselfs like barnsley us and bradford back then, you never had an easy ride as far as i can remember with us and thats a fact, that game you've pictured i remember it well, at one point i remember you lot coming down leeds road about 200 handed and coming round our end before kick-off, and it going off royally at the back of the cowshed, i watched as you tried to get through the turnstyles too into our ground but came under a hurl of missiles and were eventually backed off back up the lane to the main road, the bit where you "watching the SC run your lads from one side of your main stand to the other", i dont remember that but i do remember it going off for a short while in the seated area that leeds had been allocated.
All i remember that day is around 2-300 of you parading through our town and you attacking the crown pub were you were fronted up by our lot wielding pool cue's who went straight into you and then a barrage of missiles and then the old bill and you moved along, where it went off on leeds road again, then the incident where you tried to get in our end and then the pictures where the game was stopped for a short time while you lot were sorted out by the boys in blue because all the leeds were jumping up on the fences, there were fucking thousands of you crammed in that away end, more than capacity but thats what happend in those days before hillsborough they'd just open the gates and let every fucker in (i hardly ever paid in away games, fucking class!), i can only go off what i remember and thats it as far as the game went, then after you walsed up into town again and de-toured off from the escort and we clashed at the crossroads down from the crown, there was also another breakaway mob that must have come on bus's and it went off outside the bus station again, infact there were small offs going on all over, but i dont remember you having a total walk over, infact the only casualty that day was one of yours who hung himself in the cells with his own shoelaces(no disrespect intended).

I remember the same year at Ellend road and i do have to give you credit here, you had lads in our end and it went off in the bottom corner for a while, your lads jumped onto the sidelines and just walked round to the leeds end, i thought that was class.

Couple of seasons later i think you played bradford at ours or it might of been us and you brought another massive mob, same sketch offs all over but the one that sticks in my mind is the one on Kilner bank where you had about 50 or so lads sat on the hill watching the game and we came up to you, now that was class no old bill and good old fun and games on a fucking hillside.

So i do have alot of respect for leeds from back then, you always had your hands full when leeds came to town, and you proberly did have the biggest mob lads wise in yorkshire, but alot of it was just wild rampage, swamping places with shere numbers and causing kaos and like you say lads from huddersfield ( although i dont remember any hudds leeds personally) bradford and all the surrounding areas wakey and the likes all ran with leeds because it was total mayhem, but all these other places always had it with you and thats why i said id of put barnsley up against you back then and sheff utd and the zulu's, you may well have been number one for numbers and causing kaos but there were many firms had it with leeds back then and some that you wouldnt think would have done.

Good points ..... it hard not to agree that Leeds were the best in Yorks back in the 80s, no doubt inmy mind of this.... when we played them at Oakwell, they would bring 6000, of which at least 2000 were up for it !!!
and no doubt ...just like Hudds, the whole town would turn out, and an afternoon of mayhem would ensue ....
I also cannot recall any Leeds from the 'tarn, but there were plenty from the mining villages of Barnsley/Donny/Wakey/Rotherham .... who we would often wait for, after our home games, and send them back to Cudeth, Goldthorpe with a Barnsley bye bye ...
Barnsley also had a large following from this "triangle", and would often meet up in Wakey for a Saturday night meet with the local Leeds ....

I too remember this game & the bit about us getting run in the ground, yeah you did very early on in the terrace but just before kick off when all the rest of the Town lads came in you got a right royal fucking at the top of the terrace.
The OB had you all huddled together against the back wall where you proceeded to shit yourselves. No
Trying to get in our end you say, yeah right how would you have done that, there was a six foot drop from the top of the wall to the ground & if the fence had come down so would the & all you thick cunts would`ve been crushed death.
Selective memories if you ask me.
