Well, I took my lad to the Hudds vs Stockport games today, and rather unexpectedly ended up in the middle (watching) of a suprisingly good off ... I was heading to the Galpharm, outside the Polar Ford at 2.55, when I heard the old familiar cry of ... "here we are then", and watched in amusement as 20-30 lads got stuck into each other ... one group quickly chased the other group across the road back towards Hudds town centre ......
OK so that's it I thought, one group has chased off the other group, and the OB will be here any second ... WRONG ... the next thing, a rather healthly number of lads, ranging in age from teens to 40s appeared, and a fairly lenghy and suprisingly "good quality" toe-to-toe took place, across that road junction .....
sure enough OB duely arrived, by car, van, horse and on foot ... and peace was duely restored
So me and my lad went on our way ...
in fact the sureal afternoon was completed, when Andy Booth not only played, but even scored .....
Brought back distant but happy memories of days out at Leeds Road, in particular, the early 80's season when Barnsley played Bradford at Leeds Road, and the Barnsley, Hudds and Bradford lad all made merry
So any Hudds or Stockport care to give an insiders tale?
