To be honest dont think what they brought was that good tbh, seemed happy to be in the company of west yorkshires finest after the game if they showed a bit more effort could of been abit more lively. Supposed to be decent at home though so could be interesting down their. As for port vale did they actually go in to bradford then? Shocked

    Todays footy Empty Saints

Post  Out of Town Mon Aug 17, 2009 12:52 pm

20 tops - 10 older lads / 10 young ens, older end sat towards riverside,3 visibly thrown out for having bottles of beer, most the 823 (half of what expected) left at 80 mins when score 3-1 and we're being escorted back towards coaches/vans at ft, so must have blended in to get down over bridge towards garage & xroads before being collared. Anyone leave early to see how things developed?

Overheard senior plod with pips bollocking a number of his colleagues how badly they handled events to let this 20 leave unattended as we walked past, once they'd got hold of them again.

Have to say they're not the first to be given a free passage leaving early when you'd expect cctv to have them wrapped up, suspect if they go to the top carpark instead of up the slope they're not challenged by more clued up ob.

About 2.30 the older 10 with plod in tow tried to enter Gas club but refused entry, incredibly then allowed to turn left at xroads to wander off down towards Mkt Tavern OB happy to follow and not insist they're put in ground and out the way.

On the pitch we do look worryingly good (appreciate its early and we are town so owt can happen) with options to change it around.

Mid January return fixture may be hard on the pocket to make a better show down theirs.

Todays footy Empty Here's their account of affairs

Post  Out of Town Mon Aug 17, 2009 1:32 pm

    from their forum...

"Had a beer by the train station then got escorted down towards the ground - their OB said we couldn't go in the Gas Club where a few of ours who came by car were, we told them otherwise and went in. Just before kick off most of ours had fucked off, only a few left finishing drinks etc and 20/30 Huddersfield came in through the door - presumably tipped off by someone in there. One of their's spoke to our lad in the doorway and asked if he wanted it - was told it was hardly likely with only 3/4 Saints left. The Huddersfield lad left it at that - fair play for that, some would have piled in anyway. We went 3-1 down on about 80 minutes and all got up and left.. back to same pub. Think we would have got let in but one of the Yorkshire OB finally got a grip and said we couldn't - at same point about 10/15 Huddersfield come up the road behind us, and shouted over "so you have turned out then Southampton". Up the road further caught 4 of them hanging about, who quickly made themselves scarce - wouldn't have achieved anything to iron them out mind, especially bang infront of our F.I. officer. After this point most of the OB had fucked off and 15 of us were walking up a hill towards the train station - only two OB in tow.. and suddenly out of nowhere a decent-sized mob of Huddersfield appear ahead sprinting down the hill at us. Here we go I thought - kept walking straight ahead towards them, heart-racing - that brilliant buzz you get as it's just about to go - then from somewhere an OB van screeched up onto the pavement in between the two sets of lads and as suddenly as the Huddersfield mob appeared, they all legged it back up the road. Literally seconds away from it going right off. A few of them were hanging around by the train station but it was well wrapped up by that point. Hats off to Huddersfield, seem to have decent numbers out."

They did well to get into Cleckheaton to be fair they brought 3 mini buses full of Lads ...

They were soon wrapped up in Cleckheaton though and escorted up the M606 and into Bradford ...

Nothing Much happened after the game either as they were all put onto there buses and Escorted out of Bradford so nothing much to shout about ...

League 2 is shite to be honest the Teams that have Mobs Grimsby,Lincoln Etc there games get changed to a Tusday night and it's a Complete OB overkill ...

I hope to god our form picks up over the 2nd half of the season and we can get out of this league ...

Seems you lot are off to a flying start as well
